Mystery was picked up on the side of the road in a West Valley neighborhood by animal control in 2013. We quickly found out that she was an older gal and was really well trained! It didn't take her long to be adopted and we enjoy seeing her at local fun shows.
Loper was turned into TSP with hoof problems. This silly OTTB enjoyed his new life of trick training and trail rides. Sadly Loper broke his leg Dec 2014 and was humanely euthanized. We are sorry for the Dobson and Fauset families who loved him dearly.
Mr. Sir, a statuesque 6 year old off the track Thoroughbred, was seized in July 2012 by the sheriffs department of Toole along with 34 other horses, who came to live at The Stable Place immediately upon rescue. When he was seized by the police he was skin and bones, with horrible scratches, large untended open wounds and no evidence of sorely needed foot or hoof care. Despite his neglect and considerable discomfort, Mr. Sir's gentle nature and calm disposition were apparent from the beginning.
Grace arabian mare
Congratulations Ashley on your adoption of Grace. We can't wait to see you at the fun shows in the summer.
Tinga is a Sicilian Donkey, sociable, docile and a bit lazy. Utilized for driving lessons, lead line work with children and the disabled population, Tinga has recently landed a local movie deal, and is looking forward to the next call from Hollywood.
Black Pony, a 10 year old pony. Having been starved and punished with a barbed wire chin strap, this pony came with serious psychological scarring from his previous experiences, with anxiety ridden misbehaviors to which this parent could not risk exposing her children, nor could she take the enormous time to rehabilitate him. Since then, he has received the necessary attention and training to render him one of the stable's regular schooling ponies for advanced child riders.
Tala was a PMU foal, a by product of collecting pregnant mare urine (PMU) for the manufacture of Premarin, an estrogen hormone replacement drug. While the pregnant mares used for harvesting the urine are confined and treated in a controversial manner, their inevitable foals are an unfortunate result of this process, and unwanted, often slaughtered if not rescued. Tala, is one such rescued foal, living happily. With her sweet face, gorgeous wavy mane and tail and calm personality.
Primo Pisano (aka Rhino) is a 12 year old Zweibrücker, a German warmblood horse also know as Rhineland-Pfalz Saar, was a fancy horse destined for great things until his owners divorced. By the time Rhino came to The Stable Place, he was badly neglected, and underweight. After 8 months of care, he now loves trail rides and has been to Dimple Dell a few times.
Lola is a Mammoth Donkey, the size of a horse, but 100% donkey: sociable, docile and very stubborn. Lola is used frequently for driving and lead line lessons with children and the disabled population
Breezy is an eye catching petite young Arabian and Standardbred cross, with one blue and one brown eye, approximately 4 years old. Despite being small, Breezy is a dainty and nimble mover, quick and smooth in gait and a fast learner. She is highly sociable with people and shows promise to be a wonderful choice for smaller riders, with stamina, smarts and energy enough to be a wonderful endurance horse. Congratulations Laura Wang!
